Could you benefit from a mentor?
North West Playwrights has a well-established scheme to provide an emerging writer with six months of support from an established professional playwright - an opportunity to benefit from their experience, not only in the craft of writing plays, but also in the business of being a working writer.
Previous mentors have included renowned playwright Kaite O'Reilly and Jack Bradley, writer and ex-Literary Manager of the National Theatre.
The deadline for 2009/10 has now passed. The next opportunity to apply will be advertised towards the end of 2010.
However, NWP is looking at a scheme to facilitate co-mentoring relationships.
This would mean pairing up writers at a similar level of experience, so they could share problems and insights and provide each other with moral and dramaturgical support.
We hope to get this project up and running towards the end of 2010.
